- I would like to buy a ticket online for my sister who is in Harare traveling to Johannesburg can, she collect the ticket without providing the credit card as proof of identity. We share the same surname?
The credit card holder needs to collect the tickets and verify the Credit Card in the process. Send the traveler either a fax copy of the ticket or SMS them, the reference number. Both of these variants are accepted by our onboard crew.
- Why is my bus sometimes late?
Greyhound makes every effort to maintain published schedules. However, we are not able to guarantee that service disruptions or schedule changes will not occur due to uncontrollable circumstances such as road conditions, unexpected high passenger loads, or weather.
- What happens if I leave something on the bus?
Items that are left on the bus may be handed to the bus driver. You may check for the item the next day after 12h00 at the Greyhound Customer Care office on 27112498700. Although we may be able to help locate an item in an emergency, please note that there are different buses with different drivers on each route throughout the day, and it may not be possible for us to locate the item until it is handed in the next day. Please try to be extra careful to check that you have all you personal items with you prior to leaving the bus.
- Are pets allowed on Greyhound?
No animals will be carried, with the exception of a trained guide dog accompanying a blind person
- Can anyone charter a Greyhound Bus?
Anyone can charter a Greyhound Bus for private use. Contact the Charter department on 27116118000.
- Where do I find departure and arrival times?
Due to space constraints on the website we are not able to display the departure and arrival times. However, timetables are available by clicking the “timetables” tab.

- Do you have a loyalty Club?
We invite, the frequent traveler, to join the Greyhound Loyalty Club. Membership is free... and so are the tickets, once you have accumulated the required number of points. The enrolement form can be found listed on the products under Loyalty club.
- How do I file a complaint or a commendation?
Contact the Customer Care on 27116118000 or respond using the ‘Comments” box.
- I need to make a booking for my brother is Durban and I am in Johannesburg. How does my brother get the tickets?
Book your ticket at any Greyhound outlet and ask the booking agent to set the “ticket pick-up” for Durban. You brother will then be able to collect the ticket in Durban. However, this is limited to Greyhound offices ONLY.
- I reside in the United Kingdom, can I book using a foreign credit card?
Due to the fraud taking place with foreign credit cards it is in yours and our best interest that we do not do internet bookings with foreign credit cards. You will need to either call our call centre on 27116118000 to do a bank deposit booking or make you booking when in South Africa.
- What is the average size luggage that I may take on the bus with me?
Our average allowed luggage is 30 kilograms per passenger excess Luggage is weighed and the charged worked out accordingly. The individual Kilo is charged at R4.00 per kilogram.
- How long before I depart do I need to be at the Departure point?
Passengers are required to be at the departure points 30 minutes before the departure time shown on the ticket. Any seat not filled within 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time, will be offered for sale to standby passengers on a first come first served basis.
- Do I always travel on a Greyhound Coach?
During holidays and high passenger demand, vehicles of the same quality are contracted to operate services on behalf of Greyhound.
